Per state law, to be a substitute teacher you must hold at least a bachelor’s (4-year) degree, to be a substitute aide you must hold at least a high school diploma. A substitute teacher supersedes a substitute aide, if you need to apply for a license/permit please apply for the one in which you are most eligible. You will need to provide transcripts in your application with both the ESC and Ohio Department of Education to verify your degree.
