Understanding the Millennial Brain: Strategies for Success for Youth With or Without Disabilities

On June 21, participants will learn the latest research and strategies regarding the:

  • differences between (Millennial) young and mature brains
  • amygdala and stress response system
  • stress management techniques for youth
  • pre frontal cortex & executive functioning skills development
  • Maslow & Bloom cognitive energy dynamic
  • 5 environmental factors that make/break healthy brain development in the first 25 years of life
  • learning & energizing brain breaks as learning tools
  • fixed & growth mindset principles and strategies for real world application

On June 22, participants will learn:

  • review of main neuro principles from day 1
  • communication building strategies for transitional success
  • critical thinking strategies (verbal, written and study strategies) for classwork and career
  • principles in establishing an environment conductive to healthy brain development with/without disabilities
  • SEL (social & emotional learning principles) in home, career and school
  • relationship capacity strategies
  • benefits of mirror neurons and connection to positivity and personal relationships
  • analysis of triggers/stressors and develop a plan for success in developing capacity in a specific student/child
