Trauma Informed Schools Leadership Academy

We are excited to bring Melissa McClain from Akron Children’s Hospital to Fairfield County. Melissa is the Community Education Program Coordinator with Akron Children’s Hospital. She is highly sought after to present and train school teams to support students who experience and are affected by trauma.

This training will give your school tools to implement trauma sensitive approaches that will support students who have experienced trauma and practices to keep students in the classroom.  Ultimately implementation of trauma sensitive practices will expand your students’ learning capacity in the face of traumatic experience.  Teams will be provided time throughout this two day training to create a school plan of action.

We recommend that school teams be comprised of administrators, mental health/school counselors, and teacher leaders.  Team members with experience in implementing PBIS in your building will be an asset to your team.

Breakfast and Lunch will be provided on both days. Workshop is open to all Ohio schools and districts.
