What is the Fairfield County Educational Service Center?

Fairfield County Educational Service Center is a collaborative partner to schools. We deliver essential educational and leadership services that ensure schools meet their mission to provide students a high-quality education that prepares them for success in life.

Do you only work in Fairfield County?

We work with all eight public school districts in Fairfield County to provide services to students.  We also administer grants and provide consultations to schools throughout Ohio.

Do you work directly with students or just schools?

Both! We provide value, reduce redundancies and lend a hand to parents, teachers and school administrators to ensure our students receive a high-quality education.

We offer services directly to students, such as:

  • Pre-kindergarten
  • Special needs programs
  • Fast Track, a program providing college and career pathways to students
  • The upcoming Success Center, a flexible learning environment that will provide science, technology and mathematics education to 300 at-risk students from across the county

For schools, we offer a range of educational and leadership support including:

  • Professional development for teachers
  • Curriculum development
  • Managing career opportunities
  • Placing substitute teachers, special needs teachers and occupational therapists in classrooms
  • Writing grant applications to maximize resources

Services

I'm a teacher at a school in Fairfield County. What services can you provide to me?

We provide ongoing professional development, certifications, CPR and First Aid training, the Master Teacher Program and many more services for educators.

I’m a principal at a school in Fairfield County. What services can you provide me?

For building leaders, we provide curriculum development, in addition to securing and administering grants to bring more resources into your classrooms.

We also offer special needs personnel, school psychologists, facilitate band, choir and science fair programs, quarterly principals meetings and  much more.

I’m a superintendent of a district outside of Fairfield County. What services can you provide me?

We’ve secured and managed the Straight A Fund for school districts across Ohio, and have provided essential educational and leadership services to students beyond Fairfield County. We accept membership from any school district in Ohio.

In addition to bringing additional resources through grants and leadership expertise, Fairfield County Educational Service Center provides attendance, gifted coordination, alternative school teacher and records processing/monitoring services to school districts.

I’m a parent of a student in a Fairfield County school district. What services can you provide to my family?

Fairfield County Educational Service Center offers a number of services for parents and students in Fairfield County, and beyond.

  • For children with special needs, we offer public pre-k, but peer students (children without special needs) can also enroll in the classes.
  • For parents who desire to home school students, we ensure their transition from the traditional public school structure and offer reentry services for students returning from home schooling.
  • We facilitate band, choir and science fair programs and the 4th Grade Citizenship Program.
  • Our Fast Forward program provides students an opportunity to explore various college and career pathways.
  • We will soon open a new Success Center that will offer a flexible learning environment that will provide science, technology and mathematics education to 300 at-risk students from across the county.

Professional Development

Where can I learn about and sign up for professional development opportunities?

Fairfield County Educational Service Center offers numerous professional development opportunities, and we’ve recently invested in a complete online system so that educators can review, enroll and pay for professional development.

Can educators request specific professional developmental offerings?

Yes. Please contact Vicki Hartley at vhartley@fairfieldesc.org with your ideas.

How do I pay for classes I take?

Educators can review upcoming professional development opportunities, enroll and make payments here.

How will I receive my continuing education credits?

CEUs will be available for each workshop you attend. To obtain a certificate of attendance, you must sign up for a workshop on PD Express, and sign the attendance sheet at the workshop. Once you have completed the workshop, you can log in to PD Express and click on My Information at the top of the screen. You will get a drop down menu. Click on PD Workshops. You will see all of the workshops you have enrolled in or completed. If you have completed a workshop, you will see a certificate icon on the far right side of the workshop list. Click on that icon and you can print your certificate of completion. Submit that certificate to your LPDC for approval to get CEUs.
